Getting Started

How do I convert a sketch?

Open the App and tap Scan. Take a photo of your hand-drawn engineering sketch — or choose one from your photo library — making sure the dimensions are clearly written. The App's AI reads the drawing and produces an editable CAD preview, which you can then export as a DXF file.

What makes a good sketch photo?

What file format do I get?

SketchDXF exports DXF (R12) files, compatible with AutoCAD, DraftSight, LibreCAD, and most CAM/laser-cutting software.

Troubleshooting

"Analysis failed" when I scan

AI analysis requires an active internet connection. Check your connection and tap Retry Analysis. If it persists, try a clearer, well-lit photo of the sketch. Still stuck? Email us the photo and we'll take a look.

The AI misread a dimension

AI output can occasionally contain errors. Always verify all dimensions in the preview before exporting and manufacturing. If a specific sketch consistently produces wrong results, send it to us so we can improve the model.
